Raymond began his cable TV career in 1976 as a technician in Nacogdoches, TX with TCA Cable TV. In the years following he was promoted to and held positions of Chief Technician, District Technician, and Regional Engineer with TCA Cable, based in Tyler, Texas.
In late 1999 TCA Cable was acquired by Cox Communications, and Raymond was a Director of Engineering in the MAC group of Cox. After the MAC group was acquired in 2006 by Suddenlink Communications, Raymond served as VP of Technical Operations in the Texoma region.
Raymond’s duties and expertise through the years and various job functions included plant design, plant construction, maintenance, service, installation, project management, budgeting at system and regional level, technician supervision and training, amplifier and microwave equipment operation and repair, point to point microwave system design and maintenance, headend facility design and construction, fiber optic plant design, splicing and repair, and contractor selection and management during new build, upgrade, and rebuild projects.
After leaving the operator side of the business, Raymond worked with CommScope doing connector and broadband technical training, along with some technical assistance on sales calls.
Following the work with CommScope, Raymond joined with HPT Communications.
Raymond has a BS in Mathematics and extensive electronics training in USAF as well as various technical seminars through his career.
Raymond is located in the Tyler, Tx area, is an active member with the SCTE and has held various technical seminars for a number of SCTE chapters.
